Intro to HTML and CSS

A four-session crash course in web page layout fundamentals for people who use content management systems (or just want to know how to build a better web page).

Thursday, July 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, 2009
6:30pm-8:30pm at Lake WebWorks

If you've worked on a web page at all, you've probably experienced the fact that you can often get unintended results, rude suprises, or just plain can't make a page layout do what you want it to do!

No matter what kind of content management or web-editing software you're using, whether you know it or not, you're writing HTML (and probably some CSS too). Without a basic understanding of these two languages, authoring web page content can be an uphill battle.

Here's your opportunity to wrap your head around the fundamentals of these two languages and arm yourself with the tools to create web page content with control and confidence.

In four two-hour sessions, we'll demystify all of the acronyms and funny little brackets, explain the basics in a straight forward and easy-to-understand way, get you plenty of hands-on practice, and have you well on your way to getting the most out of your content management system.

The only requirement is that you bring your own laptop computer (Mac or PC is fine; a wireless connection is available, but not necessary).

Class size is limited to 10 people.

Cost: $250 per person before July 1st
($300 after July 1st)
